I just read this article, http://today.ttu.edu/2011/11/cyber-security-creates-issues-for-college-students/, on cyber security and it has greatly impacted me.

Firstly, I believe that cyber security is important if you want to communicate with someone like a family member in private through facebook or other forms of online communication. The internet was created to link people together and to provide a metaphorical “web” of information and online social gatherings; but many abuse that power by hacking in to another persons personal information. I believe that some information used to communicate with other must be kept private.

Secondly, I don’t think that people who post private stuff on Facebook, and then get mad for people “digging through their personal information”, shouldn’t be complaining because I think it’s their fault for putting it there in the first place. So they should not be complaining.

Lastly, I believe that people need to BE AWARE of their cyber Security. Because they are the only ones to blame if they think that something that they are posting on the web is only going to be shown to their friends.

In conclusion, I think that people’s cyber security should be up to them. Wether they want people to see their private information or not.
