The book, Hunger Games, takes place many centuries into the future, where North America has been destroyed and becomes Panem. Panem is divided into 12 districts plus the Capital, the head district that rules over them.

Every year, 1 boy and 1 girl, are chosen from each district to compete in the Hunger Games, a televised fight to the death. This book tells the story of Katniss, a girl who steps in for her sister at the annual deciding of the tributes.

She and the other tribute, a boy named Peeta Mellark, are then taken to the capital to be trained for the Games. During the games, Katniss and Peeta face many dangers such as dangerous wasps, assassins, and fire. They also must avoid being killed by other tributes who are also trying to survive.

Over all, the book had both an interesting story line, and an intriguing plot. I do wish that it would have gotten to the main story quicker though. I give it a 89.9 out of 100.
